“2012 has been recognised as the International Year of Co-operatives by the United Nations. This is an acknowledgement by the international community that co-operatives drive the economy, respond to social change, are resilient to the global economic crisis and are serious, successful businesses creating jobs in all sectors.”
We are a small co-operative on the scale of most, but we are excited about 2012 being the year of the co-op. By being members we’re making efforts to not only support organic food production, but to work towards models of buying that reflect the importance of community and involvement. We’ll be holding events through the year to celebrate the year, so make sure to get involved!
