This week was the last lot of boxes for the semester, and the second week of our Food Connect (local/chemical free) produce trial. Everyone who got a box this week or last week will get a survey later this week – please send as much feedback as possible to help in the collective decision making process the co-op values.
The boxes featured kale, butternut pumpkin, onions, green beans, potatoes and the bigger ones had mushrooms and choy sum and some had radishes. Fruit this week was very orange – mandarins, oranges and pink lady apples.
We’ve closed up for the semester break, and will reopen on Tuesday 31st July (orders will be due the week beforehand).
Thanks again for a great semester at the Food Co-op it’s been our best yet, and we look forward to many more!
Special thanks go to our core team of organisers and our regular weekly volunteers. Without all this unpaid labour the fruit and vegetable boxes wouldn’t be there each week, the dry goods wouldn’t be on the shelves for you to stock up your pantry, the bills wouldn’t be paid, reports made, websites updated, members accounted for and so on.
And thanks to to members who’ve done their required hours this semester – this contribution is important not just in terms of labour, but also in continuing to support the co-operative principles.
Remember, if you want to get more involved & hands on, there’s always regular jobs that need doing!
